The award is named for Senior Vice President 迈克埃特蒙德, who served as dean of 学生/vice president for 学生生活 for 30 years, collaborating across divisions to ensure 学生 had opportunities to create an outstanding CC experience. As acting president from 2020-21, he was the college’s first president of color.

The award is named for Margaret A. 刘,M.D.、DSchc, MDhc, FISV, ’77, known as the “mother of DNA 疫苗.” Liu develops new 疫苗 and technologies and works with international groups to bring 疫苗 and immunizations to people with limited access to 医疗保健 services, 疫苗, 治疗, 和干预.

It is named for 萨拉查(Ken Salazar) ’77, who as a lawyer, Colorado attorney general, U.S. 参议员,你.S. secretary of the interior, and U.S. ambassador to Mexico, has dedicated himself to protecting land, water, and people.

This award is named for Professor Emerita of English Adrienne Lanier Seward, 帕卡德教授, 富布赖特学者, and the first Black woman to be awarded tenure at 科罗拉多大学.

This awardee is a CC student, 明矾, current or retired 工作人员 or 教师 member who is dedicated to protecting the natural environment and who champions environmental 正义, one of the most pressing issues of our time. It is named for Professor Emeritus of Physics Val Veirs, who was a founder of the environmental program at CC and who used science to solve environmental problems and direct public policy toward science-based solutions.
